About
Welcome to the Transcultural Heritage Platform (THP), based at the University of Liverpool, School of Architecture and directed by Ataa Alsalloum.
THP was established to provide a forum for all people who are concerned about the continuity of historic and heritage properties and assets, both tangible and intangible.
We believe that a common understanding and respect among different cultures living on one land is one of the main pillars for social cohesion and sustainable development; however, the ‘heritage’ might or might not be shared, hence it is not ‘intercultural’, but it is ‘transcultural’. Hence, our Transcultural Heritage Platform.
We hope that our THP will contribute to establishing links where research, practice, education and networks intertwine.
